Service by Medallion is a Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2007® Finalist in the Socially Responsible Category

Service by Medallion’s conscious business practices and leadership in environmental responsibility was recently recognized at a glamorous ceremony the San Francisco Fairmont Hotel as a finalist by the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2007® – Socially Responsible category.

Mountain View, CA July 2007 - For the last 30 years, the building service contractor industry has distinguished Service by Medallion as the leader in building maintenance. With offices throughout the greater Bay Area, SBM takes a leap beyond helping its clients become more environmentally friendly to setting higher standards in business environmental responsibility.

Service by Medallion is led by a second-generation owner, Roland Strick Jr., who believes in leading by example. SBM earned its Green Business certification in March 2007, shortly after introducing its new fleet of Hybrid vehicles assigned to its team of District Managers. Strick is confident that undertaking innovative Green initiatives will encourage prospective clients to follow SBM as a leader and use its resources in search for proven Green solutions. Large corporations such as Roche Molecular, Oracle, Palm, and SanDisk have successfully adopted SBM’s GREEN Program, which is not only environmentally responsible, but it is becoming an alternative to reducing operating costs.

Similar to SBM, more facilities and property managers are making the commitment to become part of the USGBC Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification movement. SBM differentiates itself from the competition due to the expertise of its Green Team, and the simplicity of its GREEN Programs. SBM Green Team is able to advise and educate customers on effective Green cleaning, while SBM GREEN Programs help clients meet a wide array of objectives, including earning points for achieving LEED-EB certification and reducing operating costs.

Service by Medallion has set the goal of converting 20 million square feet of building space under contract to its GREEN Clean janitorial program over the next two years. By doing so, SBM continues to uphold its position as a leader in the building maintenance industry.
