According to Governor Newsom, on June 15, the State of California is scheduled to fully reopen after being partially or completely shut down for more than a year. All sectors of our economy will finally be able to return to normal operations, with the exception of a few large-scale indoor and outdoor events. (For now, masks are still required indoors, even for people who have been fully vaccinated, but this may change in the next few weeks.)
As we reopen, Facility Managers will play a key role in ensuring the safety and comfort of the people who use the buildings they maintain. Here are 3 easy steps to follow when reopening your facility safely:
Step 1: Building Systems Need a Tuneup
Many buildings’ heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are at risk for mold, pests, or other common hazards associated with a prolonged facility shutdown. Stagnant water can contain high levels of copper or lead from old plumbing systems or even the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease.
Service By Medallion’s award-winning Decon Task Force will do a thorough review of your building and its mechanical and life safety systems and take appropriate remedial actions to get everything ready for full occupancy.
Step 2: Deep Cleaning Strips Away the Dust and Dirt
While some facilities had skeleton cleaning crews attending to the basic cleaning needs, chances are detailed cleaning might have been left out of your scope. We recommend making sure you have your facility professionally deep cleaned before reopening. A deep cleaning includes detailed cleaning of light fixtures, blinds, windowsills, baseboards, kitchen surfaces, restroom walls, hallway edges and corners and among many more.
For more than 40 years, Service By Medallion has built a reputation as one of the finest commercial cleaning companies Headquartered in Northern California, serving clients who demand the highest quality, from large corporate campuses to small facilities. We use the latest cleaning and management technology to ensure you have a clean and safe indoor environment for your employees and visitors to your facility.
Step 3: Prevention for Added Peace of Mind
To prevent future outbreaks, the Centers for Disease Control recommends increasing the amount of outdoor air circulating through your building by opening windows wherever possible.
For added peace of mind, Service By Medallion offers the ActivePure® Technology, which releases tens of thousands of microscopic safe ActivePure® molecules that make their way to airborne and surface pathogens and contaminants and neutralize them on impact. We can install the Induct air purification enhancement system directly into a building’s existing HVAC system or provide the Pure & Clean Portable Unit that weighs only 7 ½ pounds and can be plugged into a standard electrical socket to continuously protect and clean any indoor environment.
